Mai-kai in Fort Lauderdale: A South Seas Experience


The Mai-kai, a Polynesian restaurant which has been around since 1956, provide much more than just food.
When you enter the restaurant it's like stepping into a new world filled with sounds of beating drums and memorable dances.


  • The Mai-Kai recreates a Polynesian Village, complete with tiki torches, a thatch roof, and a wooden plank bridge entrance.


  • It has eight dining rooms, a bar, tropical gardens with walking paths and waterfalls, a stage in the center to showcase the Polynesian Islander Revue floor show, and a gift shop.

  • The cuisine according to http://www.maikai.com/ include Cantonese and American dishes such as fresh seafood and steaks and house specialties like Peking Duck, Rack of Lamb and Lobster Bora Bora.

  • During your dinner you can be entertained with a 45 minute Islanders Revue performed twice nightly by native Polynesian dancers in colorful costumes. The maidens and warriors recreate, through dance, details of many facets of life in the Islands.


  • The wedding dance and the Samoan Fire and Knife dance are the most popular dances among customers according to the restaurant's reviews.
